AI Project Manager

Drive AI Adoption and Secure Innovation at Outokumpu: 

Outokumpu is looking for an organized and inspiring AI Project Manager to join our Platform Services team within Enterprise Intelligence Platforms, part of our global IT organization. 

In this role, you will help turn AI potential into business value by leading AI initiatives, accelerating AI adoption through trainings and communications, and supporting secure and responsible AI use across the company. 
  

What you bring: 

• Project Management Excellence: You bring structure, ownership, and delivery discipline to AI initiatives, from ideation to implementation and handover. 
• AI Adoption and Communication: You can turn AI concepts into practical learning, communication, and engagement activities, such as trainings, article series and community sessions 
• Secure and Responsible AI Mindset: Together with relevant experts, you help ensure AI tools and solutions are adopted securely, responsibly, and in line with company requirements. 
• Collaborative Business and Technology Bridge: You connect business needs with IT, OT, data, and AI capabilities, building trust through clear communication and proactive collaboration. 
• Practical AI and Machine Learning Understanding: You don’t need to be a professional data scientist, but you understand the benefits and limitations of different AI and machine learning approaches, can discuss them with experts, and assess the viability of potential use cases. 
    

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead selected AI initiatives from idea to implementation, ensuring clear scope, timelines, ownership, governance, and handover. 
• Coordinate stakeholders across business, IT, OT, data, AI, cybersecurity, and legal teams to keep delivery aligned with business value and company requirements. 
• Drive AI adoption through trainings, communications, workshops, and community activities that support practical AI use across the company. 
• Track progress, risks, decisions, benefits, and lessons learned to continuously improve AI delivery and adoption practices. 
   

Requirements:  

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field. 
• Solid understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning fundamentals, including the benefits and limitations of different approaches, and interest in applying AI to business challenges. 
• Experience in project coordination or project management 
• Strong communication, cooperation, and facilitation skills, with fluent written and spoken English. 
• Analytical, organized, and goal-oriented working style, with the ability to work independently and take ownership. 
• Knowledge of cybersecurity, responsible AI, AI governance, the EU AI Act, or experience in trainings and community building is considered an advantage. 
   

You don’t need years of professional technical AI experience, but the ability to understand AI opportunities and limitations, support secure adoption, manage initiatives effectively, and communicate clearly across stakeholders are key to succeeding in this role.
