Quality Development Engineer

We are looking for a Quality Development Engineer to strengthen our Quality organization. In this role, you will be at the heart of product quality development, analyzing performance and leading improvement initiatives that have a tangible impact on our customers, products, and business success.

 

You will work closely with Production, Product Management, Supply Chain Management, and other key stakeholders, while actively contributing to the development of our quality journey and management systems.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

As a Quality Development Engineer, you will be responsible for the systematic monitoring, analysis, and development of product quality and performance. You will identify deviations and improvement opportunities at an early stage and translate insights into practical improvements in collaboration with various functions across the organization.

 

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Monitor, analyze, and report product quality and performance while identifying development opportunities
  • Develop quality-related processes, metrics, and reporting tools
  • Analyze key product quality indicators, including mechanical properties, surface quality and characteristics, SOTIF, yield, quality losses, customer satisfaction, claims, and change management
  • Lead and coordinate critical quality improvement projects
  • Support project portfolio management and coordinate Tornio quality improvement project portfolio
  • Contribute to the development of quality management systems, audit readiness, strategic quality objectives, and a strong quality culture

 

What We Expect from You

 

You will succeed in this role if you have an analytical mindset, the ability to drive improvement initiatives, and a collaborative approach to working with stakeholders across the organization.

 

We are looking for a professional who has:

  • A Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Physics, or another relevant technical discipline
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality management principles
  • Hands-on knowledge of quality management systems and audits
  • Practical expertise in Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Proven ability to manage or coordinate projects
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills
  • Fluent communication skills in both English and Finnish

 

Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies, particularly Black Belt certification, is considered an advantage but is not a mandatory requirement.
