Data Scientist

Location: 

Tornio, FI Helsinki, FI

We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join our Data Science team within the Enterprise Intelligence Platforms, IT department. This role focuses on developing and implementing advanced AI and machine learning models to enhance our stainless steel production processes. The successful candidate will work closely with various stakeholders to optimize production, improve product quality, and streamline raw material procurement.

 


Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop AI and machine learning models for production optimization, end product quality, and raw material optimization.
  • Create time series and computer vision algorithms for stainless steel, ferrochrome, and raw material procurement.
  • Productize ML/AI models by integrating them into other applications or standalone user interfaces.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and participate in project planning, including Epics, features, and user stories.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Maintain high code quality.
  • Participate in application, PI, and sprint planning.
  • Adhere to best architectural and cybersecurity standards.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • At least two years practical experience in data science or computer vision domain.
  • Proficiency in Python and familiarity with frameworks such as Pandas, Scikit-learn, Pyomo, Numpy, YoloX, and Matplotlib.
  • Experience with SQL and time series databases.
  • Knowledge of Azure Cloud tools, including ML Studio, Azure OpenAI, and App Services.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools like Git, Docker, Azure DevOps pipelines, Bicep, and ARM templates.
  • Expertise in AI/ML, including probabilistic machine learning, generative AI, deep learning, and computer vision.
  • Experience in deploying and managing AI/ML solutions on cloud platforms, preferably Azure.

 

You don’t need to master all tools mentioned above, but working experience in Python is mandatory.

 


Stakeholders: Collaborate with other EIP teams, R&D engineers, QA engineers, and development engineers from SMS, HRM, and CRM departments in Tornio.
