Application Specialist - Operations Solutions Finland

Outokumpu is seeking Application specialists to join our IT team in Tornio, Finland.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enhance operational efficiency through standardization, automation, and development initiatives.
• Follow safety rules and regulations.
• Manage the software application lifecycle from selection to retirement.
• Participate in application upgrades, including testing, versioning, deployment, and validation.
• Provide end-user support, including OnCall Service.
• Customize and configure applications for manufacturing needs.
• Apply best practices and standard methods in development.
• Maintain high-quality documentation and up-to-date source code.
• Ensure compliance with IT security policies and industry regulations.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
   

Requirements:

• B.Sc. in IS/IT or equivalent experience.
• Experience in Application Development.
• Familiarity with MES and related systems.
• Proficiency in some development languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python, C/C++, .Net, COBOL, MS technologies) and R&D tools (e.g., git).
• Basic problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills in English, written and spoken.
