Application Service Team Lead

Location: Finland, Tornio or Poland, Katowice

Purpose of the Job: Outokumpu IT is growing. We are seeking a dynamic Application Service Team Lead to build, maintain, and develop a high-performing team of IT specialists focused on application management, support, and development. This role is responsible for delivering reliable services, leading a team of IT application specialists and developers, and driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement in collaboration with business counterparts and external service partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure adherence to safety rules and regulations and maintain cyber security.
• Perform line management duties, including HR topics for the team.
• Oversee application development, including agile practices, release, and deployment.
• Manage application support, maintenance, testing, and change management.
• Take accountability for application management and development services.
• Manage performance for support and development.
• Handle nearshore and outsourcing partner management.
•  Evaluate, plan, and schedule demand (ideas and enhancement requests).
• Drive continuous improvement of services, development processes, and ways of working.

Key Stakeholders:

• Service Managers in domains and platforms
• Nearshore Supervisors & Team Leads
• Enterprise Architects
• Infrastructure and IT Cyber Security representatives
• External service providers
• Local site key counterparts (e.g., L2 teams, production managers, and team leads)

Requirements:

• Academic degree or equivalent qualifications in an IT discipline. (Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field)
• 5+ years of experience in IT Application Management & Development practices.
• Excellent communication skills in Finnish and English, both spoken and written.
• Proven leadership and management capabilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all hierarchical levels.
• ITIL foundation, project management, and Agile DevOps skills are advantageous.
• Intermediate skills in common development and programming languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python, C/C++, .Net, MS technologies) and R&D tools (e.g., git).
• Intermediate skills in databases (e.g., Oracle).
• Intermediate skills in cloud technologies.
