Application Developer - Operations Solutions Finland

Outokumpu is seeking talented Application Developers to join our IT team in Tornio, Finland. 

Key Responsibilities:
 

• Design, develop, and deliver complex software applications.
• Enhance operational efficiency through standardization, automation, and development initiatives.
• Follow safety rules and regulations.
• Manage the software application lifecycle from selection to retirement.
• Participate in application upgrades, including testing, versioning, deployment, and validation.
• Provide end-user support, including OnCall Service.
• Customize and configure applications for manufacturing needs.
• Apply best practices and standard methods in development.
• Maintain high-quality documentation and up-to-date source code.
• Ensure compliance with IT security policies and industry regulations.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
   

Requirements

• B.Sc. in IS/IT or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in Application Development.
• Familiarity with MES and related systems.
• Proficiency in development languages (e.g., Java, JavaScript, Python, C/C++, .Net, COBOL, MS technologies) and R&D tools (e.g., git).
• Intermediate skills in Server Operating Systems and Databases (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL).
• Intermediate skills in Cloud Technologies.
• Basic problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills in Finnish & English.
