Are you ready to contribute to the reliability and efficiency of our IT applications at Outokumpu? We are looking for a dedicated Senior IT Application Specialist to join our Operations Solutions team. This role is your opportunity to support our business counterparts by delivering a safe and reliable application service. 

What You’ll Do: 

As an IT Application Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring operational efficiency and continuous improvement of application services. Your responsibilities will include: 

• Application Lifecycle Management: Manage the entire lifecycle of software applications, from selection and implementation to maintenance and eventual retirement. 
• End-User Support: Provide support to end-users, including OnCall Service, addressing queries and resolving issues to ensure effective application usage. 
• Application Upgrades: Oversee the application upgrade process, including testing, deployment, and validation to maintain optimal performance. 
• Customization and Configuration: Customize and configure applications to meet specific manufacturing needs, collaborating closely with vendors and internal stakeholders. 
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for applications, including user guides, configuration details, and troubleshooting procedures. 
• Training and Collaboration: Provide training sessions to end-users on new or existing applications and collaborate with IT teams to integrate applications with existing systems, ensuring data flow and process integration. 
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure high quality in daily work, including maintaining up-to-date documentation, and ensure compliance with IT security policies and industry regulations. 
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization of application functionality in alignment with manufacturing goals. 

What We’re Looking For: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, IT, or equivalent industry experience. 
• 5+ years of experience in IT Application Support, focusing on managing and supporting software applications in manufacturing environments. 
• Familiarity with ERP systems and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). 
• Intermediate skills in Server Operating Systems, Cloud Technologies, and Database Administration (Oracle, SQL). 
• Basic programming skills in languages such as Oracle Forms/APEX, Java, Python, C/C++, or .NET are valuable. 
• Strong problem-solving skills and good communication and cooperation skills in both German and English.
