IT Solution Architect Central Europe

Lead Digital Transformation as a Solution Architect, Operations Solutions with Outokumpu!  

Are you ready to drive digital transformation through innovative IT solutions? Outokumpu is seeking an experienced and visionary Solution Architect, Operations Solutions to shape the future of our MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and site-specific applications in our German plants in Krefeld and Dillenburg and Service Centers.  

The Role:  

As the Solution Architect, Operations Solutions, you will be responsible for developing and introducing MES and other site application developments according to Outokumpu's design standards. In this role, you’ll collaborate with IT developers to build the future of MES systems and production-related applications. You will be the first point of contact in the Operations Solutions Central Europe domain for MES and production processes and will take ownership of identifying optimization potential in the existing systems while driving digital transformation.  

Your Responsibilities:  

• Shape the digital transformation through new IT solutions for our value streams in German plants and Service Centers.  
• Develop and introduce MES and site-specific application components in accordance with Outokumpu’s design standards.  
• Serve as the first point of contact for MES and related production processes within the Operations Solutions Central Europe domain.  
• Identify IT requirements and optimization opportunities for current systems and manage smaller projects to change and improve the solution portfolio.  
• Ensure IT solutions are fit for purpose, intuitive, and provide excellent end-user experience.  
• Manage and maintain technical documentation, ensuring solutions meet compliance and quality standards.  
• Drive first-time-right solutions and high-quality results.  
• Collaborate with the business to prioritize changes and process improvements.  
• Contribute to enhancing IT service efficiency and improving business satisfaction.  
• Ensure compliance with IT service budgeting and contribute to the development of IT-related processes.  
• Provide input for IT service budgeting and manage related purchases and invoice control.  

Your Profile:  

• An academic degree in computer science, engineering, economics, or a related field.  
• At least 5 years of experience in designing and developing processes and solutions, particularly within MES or site applications.  
• Strong knowledge of MES systems or other site applications within the target architecture.  
• Excellent communication and cooperation skills in both German and English, spoken and written.  
• Willingness and ability to travel as required.

Location and Reporting:  
This position is based in Krefeld, Germany and reports to the Head of Operations Solutions Central Europe.
