Technical Market Development Manager

As a global leader in Stainless Steel, we're seeking an experienced metals industry TECHNICAL MARKET DEVELOPMENT Manager to cover the North American area.
This is a remote role.
Objective: responsible for driving profitable Business Area Advanced Materials-such as Flat Specialty Stainless Steel and Nickel Alloys sales growth within North America by building strong customer relationships, identifying opportunities in new markets with new products, and executing strategic, global Advanced Materials sales plans.
Job qualifications and experience requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business
- Proven 5+ years of market development in the metals industry
- Experience developing relationship EPC’s and end-users
- Strong knowledge of nickel alloys and specialty stainless steel
- > 3 years supporting Applications & markets
Competencies and skills:
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated self-motivated & self-directed problem solving
Some responsibilities are:
- Identify niche applications and markets that demand (or could demand) specialty stainless steel and Nickel Alloys
- Engage with customers, Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPCs) and end-users to develop PRO grades and products
- Support preparation of routine sales, market & product plans, for Americas & global companies, including immediate, mid-term & long-range plans
- Collaborate with global business area advanced materials market & product development to meet expectations
- Maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders
- Backup responsibility to all activities in business area advanced materials core team
- Plan & support activity at key market conferences, expos & symposia
- Support activities in key areas to facilitate growth (example, 2024/5 tank programs)
- Present new products & Outokumpu markets to engineers & influencers (EPCs & end customers)
- Collaborate with Business Area America new products develop & Territory Sales Managers to ensure one Outokumpu faces customer
- Be aware of market trends and competitor activity, & how they impact company
Physical requirements:
- Perform repetitive movements when using computer equipment, including keyboard and mouse.
- Remain sitting for prolonged periods (6-8 hours) with the possibility of alternating with standing.
- Ability to speak and listen clearly in quiet or noisy environments.
- Frequent reaching and manipulating objects with hands and arms.
- Walk frequently within the office and plant, go up and down stairs, stoop or bow as necessary.
- Review documents in digital and physical format with a high level of visual precision.
- Lift and move objects weighing up to 20 kg occasionally.
- Maintain flexibility and ability to shift between different tasks and locations within the plant and office.
- Ability to be transported by land or air means; willing to face long waiting and transfer times, both on national and international trips.
Salary range: USD. 118,800-163,400
