Sr. HR Payroll Specialist

As a global leader in Stainless Steel, we're seeking a dynamic Senior HR Payroll Specialist and be part of our team in Calvert, North Mobile County, Alabama. (This position works 3 days on-site).

 

Objective: Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll and related activities for U.S. based employees. This role plays a critical part in maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, supporting employee financial well-being and ensuring data integrity across payroll, timekeeping, and benefits systems. Also serves as a key liaison between HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure seamless payroll operations and reporting.

Job qualifications and experience requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or accounting/finance, desired.
  • >5 years proven experience with payroll processes bi-weekly, semi-monthly and off-cycle payrolls in Dayforce, including wages, bonuses, and adjustments.
  • Experience with Dayforce, PeopleDrive and other HRIS platforms.
  • Proficiency in the use of Dayforce timekeeping system.
  • Labor law knowledge and experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft programs for Data Analysis and Power BI Dashboards.
  • Strong ability to maintain confidence in the course of work.
  • Ability to work with external and internal auditors.

Some responsibilities are:

Payroll Processing & Compliance:

  • Process bi-weekly, semi-monthly and off-cycle payrolls in Dayforce, including wages, bonuses, and adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with FLSA, FMLA, and other applicable federal and state labor laws.
  • Advise HR Business Partners and managers on payroll-related regulatory requirements.

Time & Attendance Management:

  • Monitor and validate daily time and attendance data for non-exempt employees.
  • Generate reports for Time and Attendance dashboards.
  • Address and resolve timekeeping discrepancies in a timely manner.

Benefits & Recordkeeping:

  • Maintain accurate records for 401(k) and Deferred Compensation Plans.
  • Ensure timely funding of 401(k) contributions and coordinate with plan administrators.
  • Communicate FMLA and Short-Term Disability (STD) approvals to managers and HRBPs promptly.

Auditing & Reporting:

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy across payroll and HR systems.
  • Provide payroll cost data to accounting for each payroll cycle.
  • Run specialized payroll reports and perform ad hoc analysis as needed.

Employee Support:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for payroll and timekeeping inquiries.
  • Deliver high-quality service to employees, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism.

Physical requirements:

  • Perform repetitive movements when using computer equipment, including keyboard and mouse.
  • Remain sitting for prolonged periods (6-8 hours) with the possibility of alternating with standing.
  • Frequent reaching and manipulating objects with hands and arms.
  • Walk frequently within the office and plant, go up and down stairs, stoop or bow as necessary.
  • Review documents in digital and physical format with a high level of visual precision.
  • Lift and move objects weighing up to 20 kg occasionally.
  • Maintain flexibility and ability to shift between different tasks and locations within the plant and office.

 

Salary range: USD.99,400-121,400
