Production Planner

Location:

Calvert, AL, US

We are seeking a Production Planner to join our Supply Chain team in Calvert.

The position will be on site 50% of the work time, so 2-3 days per week.

Objective: Create, submit and maintain production sequences for Melt Shop and Hot Strip Mill facilities, as well as supporting functions; reallocate/prioritize materials in process to fulfill customer demand; generate and edit Production Orders; collaborate with other Business Areas to better achieve SOTIF and satisfy customer needs

Requirements:

High School diploma or GED required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
5+ years of demonstrated experience in production planning or scheduling, ideally within a relevant manufacturing industry.
Strong understanding of production processes, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
Experience with Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), with strong skills in data analysis and reporting.
Knowledge of production forecasting, capacity planning, and production cost control preferred.

Responsibilities:

Plan, schedule, and control production for each piece of equipment.
Provide planning scenarios to operations to address breakdowns, constraints, and capacity availability.
Track and document actual production from Melt Shop and Hot Strip Mill using Excel, Power BI, or Word.
Maintain the Melt Schedule in SCM Viewpoint to support Real-Time Order Promising.
Monitor demand and position for multiple products, making adjustments to meet customer requirements.
Evaluate quality reports and reroute material accordingly (e.g., rework, alternative paths).
Create, edit, and close production orders.
Make weekly planning decisions to reduce changeover time while increasing SOTIF.
Communicate planning updates to operations and sales, and collaborate closely with Mexinox teams.
Participate in a rotation schedule for weekends and holidays, with required on‑call availability.

Salary: USD.76,200-104,700
