Production Planner
Calvert, AL, US
Objective: Create, submit and maintain production sequences for Melt Shop and Hot Strip Mill facilities, as well as supporting functions; reallocate/prioritize materials in process to fulfill customer demand; generate and edit Production Orders; collaborate with other Business Areas to better achieve SOTIF and satisfy customer needs
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in production planning or scheduling, ideally within a relevant manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of production processes, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
- Experience with Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), with strong skills in data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of production forecasting, capacity planning, and production cost control preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and control production for each piece of equipment.
- Provide planning scenarios to operations to address breakdowns, constraints, and capacity availability.
- Track and document actual production from Melt Shop and Hot Strip Mill using Excel, Power BI, or Word.
- Maintain the Melt Schedule in SCM Viewpoint to support Real-Time Order Promising.
- Monitor demand and position for multiple products, making adjustments to meet customer requirements.
- Evaluate quality reports and reroute material accordingly (e.g., rework, alternative paths).
- Create, edit, and close production orders.
- Make weekly planning decisions to reduce changeover time while increasing SOTIF.
- Communicate planning updates to operations and sales, and collaborate closely with Mexinox teams.
- Participate in a rotation schedule for weekends and holidays, with required on‑call availability.
Salary: USD.76,200-104,700
