As a global leader in Stainless Steel, we're seeking a dynamic  Manufacturing Operator to join our Cold Annealing and Pickling Line  team in Calvert, Mobile County, Alabama.

 

Objective: High energy operator, committed to safety, quality & productivity to help Outokumpu achieve the accuracy and quality standards needed on the Cold Annealing and Pickling Line.

Job qualifications and experience requirements:
•    
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
•    Proven previous manufacturing experience in production lines

•    Experience following strict safety regulations and guidelines for production or logistics environments
•    Knowledge of computers, including data entry, emailing etc.
•    Have experience operating overhead cranes (preferably)

•    Have experience operating a forklift (preferably)

•    Understanding of production procedures. Experience following very specific procedures and documenting the completion of critical steps

Job Responsibilities:
•    Follow all safety rules and regulations strictly and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
•    Safely use and operate various tools including power tools, hoists, and production equipment.
•    Maintain a consistent pace throughout the shift with a focus on quality (i.e., within applicable quality standards).
•    Maintain regular, reliable attendance
•    Accurately complete paperwork required for production records.
•    Ability to read, understand, and follow established processes and instructions.
•    Perform duties assigned by Shift Coordinator.
•    Perform housekeeping activities daily.
•    Work shift schedules (day, nights, weekends and holidays). Overtime as required and mandated by production schedules
Physical requirements:
•    Must be able to work in extreme heat
•    Must have the ability to climb in a safe manner (climbing as a minimum includes stairs, ramps and ladders) same as ability to walk long distances and demonstrate good balance on uneven terrain or maneuvering obstacles
•    Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, vibrations and dust
•    Ability to withstand exposure to elevated ambient temperature for extended periods of time
•    Must be able to work in a high noise environment where the use of hearing protection is required
•    Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. utilizing proper lifting techniques
•    Ability to frequently use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects/materials
•    Ability to work in areas with strong magnetic fields
•    Bend, twist, lift, stand, walk, reach, see, move, and hear as required by specific position
•    Ability to frequently perform reaching tasks with hands and arms
•    Must be able to communicate utilizing radios, phones and/or intercom systems
•    Ability to safely use power and hand tools
•    Ability to safely operate powered industrial vehicles and equipment for tasks and diagnostic purposes, including overhead cranes.
•    Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toes shoes, goggles, respirator, safety harness, safety line, flotation gear, etc.) safely per OSHA standards
