Maintenance Planner

We are looking for a Maintenance Planner to join our Cold Rolling Works team in Calvert, Mobile, Alabama.
The primary objective of the Maintenance Planner position is to facilitate daily work assignments and projects for maintenance personnel and contractors to ensure the tasks are performed to high quality standards and in an efficient and timely manner. The ideal candidate will maintain responsibility not only for daily planning activities but also for long-term maintenance planning by taking a proactive approach and utilizing the most effective technology methods available.
Requirements:
- B.S. or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Technology and/or 2 plus years of hands-on experience working in a high-volume manufacturing or equivalent environment focused on Maintenance Planning and Preventative Maintenance
- Experience with working in a Team atmosphere and coordinating maintenance work activities, Preferred
- Has knowledge and experience with a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System)
Ability/Experience in using Excel, Word, SAP, Minitab, and Prometheus Planning/Scheduling software

Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance activities by task and priority level
- Manage spare parts and alignment between the maintenance department and stock room
- Create maintenance schedules and generate work orders
- Create procedural manuals that explain how to do certain tasks
- Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime
- Responsible to determine work priorities and requirements through discussions / meetings with maintenance, engineering, production and contractors.
- Estimate costs of labor and parts for industrial equipment
- Adjust schedules to account for emergency work
- Assist and support maintenance manager
- Serve as a liaison between maintenance and operations
- Maintain records and files essential to maintenance management
- Coordinate with maintenance staff, contractors, and external vendors
- Prepare preventive maintenance plans that are aligned with the organization’s maintenance goals
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toes shoes, goggles, respirator, safety harness, safety line, flotation gear, etc.) safely per OSHA standards
- Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. utilizing proper lifting techniques
- Must have the ability to climb in a safe manner (climbing as a minimum includes stairs and ramps).
- Bend, twist, lift, stand, walk, reach, see, move, and hear as required by specific position.
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions, including rain, extreme heat and cold and near moving parts. Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, vibrations, dust and asphalt.
- Ability to frequently work from heights of at least 60 feet and above as required for specific tasks.
- Must be able to work in a high noise environment where the use of hearing protection is required
- Ability to frequently use hand or fingers to handle or feel objects/materials.
- Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to walk long distances and demonstrate good balance on uneven terrain or maneuvering obstacles.
- Ability to be a self-starter and to follow directions and work in a team environment
- Display strong attention to detail by keeping mind on task and eyes on task all
Salary range: USD. $76,200 - $104,700
