Maintenance Coordinator Mobile Equipment

As a global leader in Stainless Steel, we're seeking a Maintenance Coordinator (Mobile Equipment) and be part of our Melt Shop maintenance team in Calvert, Mobile County, Alabama.
In this role, you will oversee the management of spare parts inventory, procurement, and the implementation of preventative maintenance strategies for the scrap handling fleet of heavy equipment. Also directs personnel (both in-house and contractor) in maintenance and upkeep of scrap handling equipment.

Job qualifications and experience requirements:
• High school diploma or EGS
• A degree in Engineering discipline or business is a plus
• 5+ years of experience in spare parts management, maintenance, or asset management principles
• Knowledge of heavy equipment brands, models, and specifications.
• Experience in budgeting and financial management related to equipment lifecycle costs.
• Experience following strict safety regulations and guidelines for production environments.
• Knowledge of material handling equipment including material handling cranes, dock cranes (E crane), Mafi and Terberg trucks, Seacom trailers, and scrap bucket trailers with weighing systems.

Responsibilities:
• Identify safety hazards and opportunities for improvement in safety
• Manage spare parts, including critical spare identification and inventory levels.
• Develop, implement, and oversee preventative maintenance programs for all heavy equipment to minimize unplanned downtime
• Oversee the maintenance team to ensure that proper procedures are followed during the equipment inspections, servicing, and repairs
• Monitor equipment performance metrics and implement adjustments to maintenance schedules based on usage, condition, and wear
• Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all heavy equipment, including purchase dates, maintenance history, and lifecycle status
• Track warranties and manage claims for faulty parts or equipment failures
• Work closely with the operations team to align equipment availability with production schedules.
• Prepare regular reports on equipment performance, spare parts usage, maintenance schedules, and budgetary performance.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toes shoes, goggles, respirator, safety harness, safety line, flotation gear, etc.) safely per OSHA standards
• Must have the ability to climb in a safe manner (climbing as a minimum includes stairs and ramps) same as ability to walk long distances and demonstrate good balance on uneven terrain or maneuvering obstacles
• Ability to withstand exposure to elevated ambient temperature for extended periods of time
• Must be able to work in extreme heat
• Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, vibrations, dust and asphalt
• Must be able to work in a high noise environment where the use of hearing protection is required
• Ability to frequently use hand or fingers to handle or feel objects/materials
• Ability to work in areas with strong magnetic fields
• Bend, twist, lift, stand, walk, reach, see, move, and hear as required by specific position
• Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms
• Must be able to communicate utilizing radios, phones and/or intercom systems
• Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. utilizing proper lifting techniques
Salary range: USD. 88,300-121,400
