As a global leader in Stainless Steel, we're seeking a dynamic Industrial Mechanic and be part of our Cold Rolling Works team in Calvert, Mobile County, Alabama.
In this role you will be responsible for electrical maintenance to ensure the proper functioning and operation of electrical systems in the Cold Rolling Works area. The Electrician will support maintenance activities in the event of breakdown, shutdown, and any other planned maintenance as requested as well as perform routine and predictive maintenance activities. The position is of primary importance for shop productivity and most importantly, safety.

Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
• 2 to 4 years Technical trade school or apprenticeship program preferred
• Proven >3 years working experience in an industrial or heavy manufacturing environment required .
• Strong mechanical aptitude in using torque wrenches, drills, hammers, grinders, welders, hydraulic porta-power units, basic knowledge of laser alignment tools, calipers, micrometers, tape measures, band saw, drill press, pipe threading machine, taps/dies, and varies hand tools used to perform mechanical task.
• Demonstrated working experience with the removal/ installation of bearings, pumps, replacing and repairing hydraulic cylinders, troubleshooting hydraulic systems, understands the principles of lubrication, knowledge of gearbox components and preventative maintenance activities associated with asset reliability.
• Experience with preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, lubricating mechanical parts, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and implementing resolution to repair assets.
• Prior experience using Microsoft Office and SAP is a requirement.

Responsibilities:
• Maintain the proper Mechanical performance and operation of all equipment within assigned area.
• Maintain the functionality of power distribution within the assigned area.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities
• Assemble, install, and maintain Mechanical systems.
• Provide technical assistance when Mechanical problems are encountered.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Engineers as needed to diagnose Mechanical problems and determine how to resolve them.
• Record equipment activities and malfunction in SAP
• Support Operations as needed to meet business objectives.
• Support implementation of Best Practices and Continuous Improvement.
• Maintain environmental and safety compliance requirements.
• Identify safety hazards and opportunities for improvement in the safety.
• Identify environmental opportunities for improvement.
• Optimize operating practices and procedures.
• Any other activities that may be required, or requested, to support the business.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toes shoes, goggles, respirator, safety harness, safety line, flotation gear, etc.) safely per OSHA standards
• Must have the ability to climb in a safe manner (climbing as a minimum includes stairs and ramps) same as ability to walk long distances and demonstrate good balance on uneven terrain or maneuvering obstacles
• Ability to withstand exposure to elevated ambient temperature for extended periods of time
• Must be able to work in extreme heat
• Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, vibrations, dust and asphalt
• Must be able to work in a high noise environment where the use of hearing protection is required
• Ability to frequently use hand or fingers to handle or feel objects/materials
• Ability to work in areas with strong magnetic fields
• Bend, twist, lift, stand, walk, reach, see, move, and hear as required by specific position
• Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms
• Must be able to communicate utilizing radios, phones and/or intercom systems
• Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. utilizing proper lifting techniques
• Ability to safely use power and hand tools
• Ability to safely operate powered industrial vehicles and equipment for tasks and diagnostic purposes, including overhead cranes.
Salary: 34.27 hr.
