Baghouse Technician

As a global leader in Stainless Steel, we're seeking a dynamic Baghouse Technician and be part of our Melt Shop Operations team in Calvert, Mobile County, Alabama
In this role, you will safely perform operational and technical responsibilities associated directly to the Emissions control systems.

Job qualifications and experience requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent required.
- Manufacturing experience
- Mobile equipment operation experience
- Experience in SAP preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to relay, document, and log technical information clearly and precisely.
- Knowledge of hand tools and metric / standard measuring units.
- Experience following strict safety regulations and guidelines for production or logistics environments.
Responsibilities
- Utilize all necessary PPE to safely perform preventative maintenance, repair, and operational duty assigned to the Electric Arc Furnace, Argon Oxygen Decarburization.
RMH baghouses and equipment. - Safely operate equipment and perform work within confined spaces.
- Troubleshoot/ repair mechanical and electrical problems on baghouses and material handling systems.
- Develop proficiency with the Siemens Human Machine Interface (HMI) to operate, monitor, or identify process set-points to maintain healthy Melt shop operational parameters.
- Collaborate with the Electric Arc Furnace, Argon Oxygen Decarburization regularly to maintain continuity between process and baghouse operation.
- Record and enter all daily required environmental data.
- Utilize SAP to record malfunctions, activities, and reference daily assigned PM work orders.
- Responsible for scheduling and loading tractor trailers for dust shipment.
- Any other activities that may be required, or requested, to support the business.
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to work in extreme heat
- Must have the ability to climb in a safe manner (climbing as a minimum includes stairs, ramps and ladders) same as ability to walk long distances and demonstrate good balance on uneven terrain or maneuvering obstacles
- Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, vibrations and dust
- Ability to withstand exposure to elevated ambient temperature for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work in a high noise environment where the use of hearing protection is required
- Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. utilizing proper lifting techniques
- Ability to frequently use hand or fingers to handle or feel objects/materials
- Ability to work in areas with strong magnetic fields
- Bend, twist, lift, stand, walk, reach, see, move, and hear as required by specific position
- Ability to frequently preform reaching tasks with hands and arms
- Must be able to communicate utilizing radios, phones and/or intercom systems
- Ability to safely use power and hand tools
- Ability to safely operate powered industrial vehicles and equipment for tasks and diagnostic purposes, including overhead cranes.
- Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toes shoes, goggles, respirator, safety harness, safety line, flotation gear, etc.) safely per OSHA standards
Salary: $34.27 hr.
